TEHRAN – An aquaculture and animal husbandry delegation from Senegal has traveled to Iran to participate in training courses and learn about the experiences and achievements of Iran in the fields of fisheries and veterinary medicine.

According to the Head of Iran’s Veterinary Organization (IVO) Mojtaba Norouzi, IVO hosted the 15-member Senegalese delegation under the framework of the previously reached agreements on collaborations and contributions to developing the management skills of African countries.

Norouzi said his organization is ready to share its experiences with the visiting Senegalese delegation in the fields of aquaculture and veterinary medicine.

The deputy minister of agriculture hoped that the training courses would be fruitful for the Senegalese officials.

The Senegalese delegation, which is headed by the country’s deputy minister of Fisheries and Maritime Economy, is also going to visit the fishing docks and quays of the southern provinces of Iran in the Persian Gulf region.

Speaking to the Iranian Press, Sene Tening said she and her accompanying officials have visited Iran to get familiar with the experiences and achievements of Iran's aquaculture and veterinary capabilities in the field of animal husbandry.

“Because Senegal has the necessary means for the development of the aquaculture industry, we hope that we will be able to return to Senegal from this trip with a lot of experiences that could change the aquaculture system of the country,” she said.
